Save the Dates are typically going to be the first bit of wedding related materials that you’re guests are receiving, so it can be nice to give them a hint of what is to come, and to keep your save the date in line with the overall design for your day. It really is the first impression your guests will have of your wedding day! This absolutely is not a “requirement”, but just another way to help make the day, and all the little details, feel a bit more reflective of you and your partner.

When I began the search for a wedding dress, I really had no idea what to expect.  As a planner, I focus on the logistical side and design aspects of putting together my client’s weddings, but generally do not advise my brides on which dress to pick (trust me, you look amazing in every dress! I would be so unhelpful!). I had gone with my sister wedding dress shopping, but still, to be on the “trying on” side would be different than sitting and watching someone come out in new dresses every five minutes.

Taking engagement photos was, hands down, one of the most fun aspects of wedding planning so far. It doesn’t hurt when your photographer is the talented Danielle Poff, your bouquet is created by floral mastermind Michelle Lywood, and the brilliant Katie Nash does your hair and makeup.

I thought it was about time that I share these photos, as well as a few engagement photo tips and styling tricks I learned along the way!

Wedding websites are a really great tool for your guests to utilize, and can save you money on paper goods so you don’t have to enclose maps, hotel information and your registries on info cards enclosed with your invitations. Since our wedding location falls under the “slightly difficult to get to and requires planning ahead” category, I knew we had to get started on our website early so we could provide lodging information to our guests as soon as possible. This also meant getting on Save The Dates quickly, so we have a vehicle to provide all of our guests with our website and therefore with lodging and travel information.

What Is My Favorite Wedding Website?

Venue searching is often one of the most difficult aspects of planning your wedding, as you can’t do a whole lot in terms of planning or booking other vendors until you have your venue and date.  I had been simultaneously checking out photographers, getting our final guest list together and looking at some wedding websites, but researching venues took a majority of my time and energy and I wanted to dedicate as much focus as possible to knock it out since we had been taking the early stages of wedding planning slowly and smoothly. One of my favorite venue finder tools that I used was The Venue Report
