In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I thought I would take a moment to reflect on 99 random things I am grateful and thankful for. I self-admittedly am not great at living in the moment — I’m busy thinking about the next client’s wedding, and find myself constantly thinking about future moments and events. But right now, I’m going to stop and be grateful for what I have right here, right now. Here is my list, in no particular order! 

I wholeheartedly believe your ceremony is the bread and butter of your wedding day — your guests are there to not only celebrate you, but bear witness to the incredible promises you are making to each other and provide support to your marriage. It is important to spend enough time on your ceremony and your vows, which are often easy to put off until “later” since you don’t technically need them done until the wedding day.

I don’t even know how to begin this…our wedding was truly the most incredible day of both our lives.  We didn’t set out to create something over the top, or spectacular, we didn’t even set out to make it the best day ever – it just was.  We set out to make this day feel “us” in every way we could – we picked three words to help guide us throughout our planning – emotional, adventurous and unique, which are words that we came up with that describe our relationship, and in turn, how we wanted our wedding to feel. 

Planning for a wedding and marriage with the person I love most in this world was by far one of the most beautiful experiences. Dave and I have been together through many transitions, new experiences, and new “normals” together, and have come out loving and appreciating each other even more. So when thinking about our wedding, we knew we wanted to have a whole weekend away celebrating the commitments we were so happy to finally be making a reality.

This year has been flying by, I can’t believe it is already the last day in May!  Back in the off season, I told myself I would get so much done for our wedding and share more about our journey and process, but lo and behold, time escaped me and I have regretfully been terrible about blogging more about my own journey as a wedding planner planning my wedding.
