As soon I started talking with Caroline and Brandon I instantly felt a connection and knew they were “my people”. I was overjoyed that they felt the same and I couldn’t wait to get started working with them on their day! They already had Barndiva booked for their wedding, so I knew it was instantly going to be a great time. Barndiva has tons of eclectic and funky pieces in their gallery, paired with a beautiful dining space covered with crawling vines and beautiful ambient lighting. Healdsburg is such a lovely little town filled with incredible restaurants, bakeries and tons of little boutique shops and galleries — a super fun location for their 180 guests to explore, many coming from out of state.
Caroline is a food scientist (incredible, right?!) and does impeccable food design and creative work, which gave her a great design knowledge base and vision of what she wanted their wedding day to feel like. I worked with them to bring cohesion to the design and give their budding ideas a vision and life. Caroline DIY’d some major pieces, including all of the lucite elements using a machine at work! We selected Ampersand to give life to the floral vision of textures with deep color pops, which they totally nailed! I alternated the tabletop designs with garlands and bud vases to add more textural variety and interest, and used mixed metals, primarily in rose gold, as accents. We kept it feeling fresh and modern, with some fun and funky vibes on the side. Marisa Perel did Caroline’s hair and makeup to the nines, making her look fresh, light and totally elegant in her Sarah Seven sparkling dress.
One of my favorite pieces of their day was a beautiful map of all of their guests which showed how Caroline and Brandon knew each of their guests, along with any guest connections among themselves. It was truly exceptional and so fun to see how everyone knew the bride and groom, and each other, and such an inclusive way to visualize their community. I also loved the personalization their ceremony held — fun tidbits on their relationship and personal vows that left all of their guests with watering eyes, myself included (always).
I couldn’t be happier for these two and know they will truly have a lifetime of adventures! Congrats!
